On September 2, 2009 Dr. Lorrence H. Green presented a talk entitled “Anatomy of an Entrepreneur” at the first seminar in the “Nuts and Bolts of Biotechnology Entrepreneurship” series. The seminar series was held at Stony Brook Manhattan in NYC and jointly organized by the Fundamentals of the Bioscience Industry Alumni Committee and NYC BIO.
Dr. Green found a very receptive audience as he used a figure from the game of Operation to describe various parts of the anatomy that are required in the successful entrepreneur. The audience consisted of professionals, academics, students as well as a few budding entrepreneurs. He told this group that:
“While having a head and a heart are important, they aren’t going to do anything for you unless you have the guts to put some skin into the game.”
